Hanging punctuation (right-aligned)

ID CS3, XP...



I cannot get hanging punctuation to work by selecting the frame, going to ''Type/Story'', and choosing ''Optical Margin Alignment'' with the correct font size. This appears to change nothing.



I *can* use an ''indent to here'' marker after the opening quotation mark and get it to work for left-aligned paragraphs.



I *cannot* figure out to get it to work for right-aligned paragraphs so that the ending quotation mark hangs correctly.



Help?

It works here. Are you saying it doesn't hang at all, or just not as much as you'd like?



You can do essentially the same thing as you describe for the left-aligned text -- add a right indent and a negative last line indent -- but it won't hang any other ending punctuation that might happen mid-paragraph.

I'm saying it doesn't hang at all (using Story/Type). I only have a single instance of the right-aligned paragraph, so I'll just use your tip above for that one. I'll have to play later to figure out *why* the normal method is not working.
