Do I have to uninstall InDesign CS2...

I currently have InDesign CS2 on my PC. I am running Windows XP. I am trying to load the Adobe Creative Suite 3. When I run the installation it will load Dreamweaver, Flash, etc just fine but when it get to InDesign CS3 it just hangs up and won't go any further. It loads everything but InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Do I need to uninstall all my other Adobe versions before loading the CS3 Suite?

No. You can have multiple versions of everything Adobe (except Acrobat).

Call Adobe. Installation issues are free.

Issues with CS3 are no longer free, I think.

The CS3 installer is not exactly a marvel of programming, and a lot of things are known to conflict -- anti-virus, browser toolbars, iTunes, messengers...

The best bet is to turn off all unnecessary startup programs and services before running the installer. At this point you may also need to run the Flash Player removal tool and the CS3 Clean Script (which also requires the MSI cleanup utility from Microsoft), but I'd try running the installer again with stuff shut off first. Running the cleanup script is likely to remove your CS2 apps as well.

Another possibility is a bad disk or drive. If the installer is unable to read one of the files it will hang. There are instructions in the Knowledgebase for copying the disks to the desktop and installing from there. If a file is unreadable, Windows will tell you during the copy stage, unlike the installer which will hang and MAYBE put an entry in the installer log.

If you search in the general Creative Suite forum you'll find a lot more information about CS3 installer issues. There were hundreds of posts.
