Indesign Package File Problem

Dear users

I have ID cs,cs2,cs3 in my system. I created a package file using IDCS2. It's perfect folder and the ID file shows IDCS2 icon now. While I am zip the folder the ID file icon automatically changing to CS3. And the Indesign file inside the zip folder converted to cs3, it's not opening in cs2 after unziped. Any one had this problem before?

kindly advice me how to keep the cs2 file as cs2 version while compressing zip file.

thanks in advance

Are you certain this was never edited in CS3?

I just tried this on an old package, and indeed, when looked at in WinZip the icon has changed (in my case to CS4), but if I extract the folder again the icon is once again correct, and the file opens just fine in CS2.

Sorry this isn't much help.

Normal behavior...don't sweat it.

You'll only see the correct icon in Windows explorer for uncompressed

files. Windows will use the most current one for zipped folders.

Same thing for a file attachment in Outlook.

Didn't finish reading the post...what happens when you try to open the

file in CS2?

Bob

That's what I thought you said in the original post. Is the uncompressed icon for CS2 or CS3?

I asked before if you were certain the file hadn't been edited and converted to CS3 before zipping. Since it won't open in CS2, can you open in CS3 and check? After opening, click the help menu, then hold down the Ctrl key and click on About InDesign. You can review the file save history in the box on the lower left of the dialog.

Using File %26gt; Open, or by double-clicking the icon?

HI Benson

I did't not edit cs2 files in cs3 before zipping

It's by double clicking

thanks

Double clicking always opens the file in the application Windows associates with the file extension. By Default, for InDesign, this is the last version you installed, so if you have CS2 and Installed CS3 after, all ID files will open in CS3 when you double-click.

Will it open in CS2 when you use the application File %26gt; Open command?
