Trial Version of InDesign CS4

I have downloaded the trial version of CS4. Is it suppose to be fully operational? The text does not show up when I type, and the pictures cannot be fit to container.

Yes, it should be fully functional. Can you give us some system specifications? There have been some reported problems, particularly with AMD systems.

I have tried it on the following 2 systems with the same results.



HP desktop--Windows XP Home Edition--Service Pack 2--AMD Athlon (tm) XP 3000+ 210GHZ-1.43GB Ram



HP Laptop--Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit--Service Pack 1--Intel Core 2 Duo CPU T5550 1.83 GHz--4 GB memory (the issue with this one may be administrative rights--I am listed in the user folder as an administrator on this machine, and I was able to install CS3 without any problems--my tech people were not available for help--will try again Monday)

It won't hurt to try replacing your preferences in any case.

The desktop with the AMD processor, has the correct permissions for the folders. Any other ideas.

Did you read the whole thread? If your processor is older you may have to wait for the problem to be patched.
