Fonts STILL not showing up in Indesign

I've installed a number of Adobe purchased, Helvetica and Bodoni fonts and when I open InDesign, it's like a box of chocolates...

If I open up Adobe Type Manager, the fonts are there and active, but not all showing up inside InDesign. I've seen a number of these problems listed, but no amount of installing and re-installing the fonts in either the WIndows Fonts location or the InDesign Fonts folder fixes the problem.

Has anyone solved this riddle? It's very annoying to purchase fonts from Adobe and then have Adobe products not even recognize them.

Thank you.

What version of Windows and what version of ATM?

Isn't ATM pretty much obsolete except on older versions of Windows - pre-XP, generally?

Neither XP nor Vista requires a font manager to handle Type 1 fonts. I use Suitcase only for the common reason of having about 4,000 fonts to manage. :P

ATM Deluxe was a very nice font manager for its simplicity alone. But if

you used the wrong version on XP you'd kill the ability of the operating

system to properly handle fonts.

Yes, I remember it fondly, especially when it finally came out for NT - I'd thrown a tantrum to get a real OS for publication, and then had to fan dance a little when I couldn't use my T1 fonts for about six months. :O

Suitcase is about as simple, but not quite. ATM was clean.

We're using ATM Deluxe 4.1.2 on Windows XP Professional, SP3. Seems to be running beautifully.

There's been no reply from the OP. I'd bet on an older version of Windows being the culprit.

Try installing your fonts thru windows.
