Vector map becomes fuzzy when placed...

Hi. I edited a vector map in Illustrator that looks great with very sharp lines. When I place it into InDesign, the lines become fuzzy---almost like they are out of focus. My question is, is there a specific format I should be saving the Illustrator file in to best suit InDesign? I've tried placing in PhotoShop also (looks fine) and then placing in InDesign as a jpeg, eps, psd and none of those produce a different result.
