I am using InDesign Premium CS3 on a Windows XP SP2 box. I also have the other apps (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) installed. The programs have been working fine for several months now until quite recently. When I invoke ID, Photoshop or Illustrator (haven't tried the others yet) I get a prompt to register. No matter what I do (whether I attempt to register or tell it I want to register later) the registration screen just sits there and cannot be made to go away. the program cannot be used at this point, of course. I have to shut down the prog using the Task Manager.
Is this a known issue and can someone please point me toward a resolution of some sort? Thanks!

Register or Activate?
IDCS3 continual prompt to register and...
It's asking me to register. I'm assuming it's activated fine since I've been using it for some months. I work in a corporate environment and our IT dept. is moving kind of slowly on fixing this, hence my posting. They know next to nothing about our software so I thought maybe I could cut some downtime by asking other users.
Oddly, my boss just told me she's been getting the same sort of error (prompting to register when the program is invoked) but she just clicks on ''register later'' and the prog behaves fine.
Probably a registry key somewhere that needs to be edited.
Are you sure it was ever actually registered?
Peter
It appears to be. Prowling through the registry I find my company name and ''IT Department'' as the individual name. I'm just looking, not changing anything as I'm not sure what value relates to its registered/non-registered/ask-to-register state.
Nor am I. Ask IT how they register that stuff and go ahead and submit it again. I'm sure it won't hurt a thing.
I, too, am experiencing the exact problem that you describe, Michael. My programs have been working okay for weeks. Now, they are all prompting for me to register and then freezing up regardless of whether I provide my information or say I'd like to register at a later date. Could you please let me know if you found a solution that worked? Any help you (or any other forum readers) can provide is greatly appreciated.
