Using CS3 -- photo w/background as separate layer in PS, can I somehow let one layer print on black plate, other layer print on spot color plate? Thanks L

Make a copy and try this, not tested, but I think it will work. The photo should be grayscale to start, I think.



Create a new spot channel. Select all the pixels on the layer you want on the color plate, then cut. Open the spot channel and paste. When you return to the layers view you should see your background in gray and the remaining content in your spot color. You should be able to merge the now empty layer with the background.
