cs4 questions wrap around object...

Hi everyone. I'm an old user, of PageMaker, upgraded to Indd cs4. I brought in a PM7 document into Indesign, and everything was ok, however... I have boxes that text wraps around. But, in these boxed areas I want to put text and a photo. Easy. But, not for me. I can't get the text in the box, because of something I'm doing wrong in the wraparound area, but I have no idea what. Text doesn't show up at all, won't place in the box area. I know there is an easy fix, but not sure what it is.

Also, how do you crop a photo? Where is the crop command in cs4?

Thanks.

For the text that you want to place over the photo, select the text

frame and right click. Choose text frame properties from the contextual

menu and enable ignore text wrap.

To crop a photo just use the selection tool and change the frame.

If you are saying that you have boxes with text wrap applied to them to wrap text around them, and also want to place

text over these boxes you will need to select the text frame you want to superimpose on the box, right click, Text Frame

Options (or Ctrl B). Check the ignore text wrap box near the bottom.

I can't remember the crop tool in PageMaker, but to crop a picture just drag a side handle in with the selection tool

(black arrow).

The Position Tool (under the direct select tool) is very similar to the crop tool in PM.

Thanks so much everyone for your fast and expert answers!!!
