InDesign newbie reporting in.

I currently run InDesign CS4 and WinXP Pro.

I'm attempting to print on a Canon C2880i, no I'm not a professional publisher, just an admirer of Adobe software and it's capabilities.

I'm a Real Estate Broker out of California (yeah, sucks at the moment), and I'm in the process of putting that 'pop' into my marketing materials and ran into a problem with printing a graphic that fades off into 100% transparent as it leaves the origin point.

The graphic is Blue, R:0 G:0 B:100%; when this document is printed, it prints as purple.

I haven't had much luck with print options, or trying a trick on Indesignsecrets.com.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Blues are the toughest color to get right. That said, make sure that

your transparency blend space is set to RGB and that color

management/correction is turned off in the print driver.

Josh,

pure RGB blue, for instance in sRGB, is very far from

being printable by offset, inkjet or toner printer.

You can test this by

View %26gt; Proof Setup %26gt; choose a profile %26gt; Proof Colors

The profile is either an offset profile like ISOCoated

or SWOP, or a desktop printer profile. A 'canned' profile

(coated) would be sufficient for this pupose.

The result: pure RGB blue appears always dark and purplish.

The remedy: change the color towards cyan. Here are many

examples for printable blue-cyans:

You can measure the colors by opening a page in Photoshop,

mode sRGB. Then indicate RGB numbers by Info Palette.
