How cam I insert a footnote in a table?

Which is a weird limitation -- but you can fake it.



Insert the footnote anywhere else on the page where it doesn't take up any extra space (for instance, at the end of a paragraph). Set the colour of the reference number to [Paper], so it is invisible.

Insert the reference number as regular superscript text in the correct place in the table.

If you want the number to be invisible, set the color to [None] rather than [Paper] so what ever might be behind it can show through. [Paper] is going to leave a knockout against anything except a blank spot on the page. :)
