Page numbering - Numbering and section...

CS4: I can't find my way of adding an automatic page numbering on a master The helpfunction asks me to go to Layout/Pages numbering, but I don't see any such item. The Layout/Numbering and section is dimmed. What do I do wrong?

To add automatic page number on a master you must put a number marker in a text frame on that master. The numbering and section options are available only for document pages -- you don't start numbering with a master -- but you can designate a new section start (and a starting page number) for any live page.

But how do I ''put a number marker in a text frame on that master'' - I have done this 1000 of times with CS3, suddenly I can't find my way. Can you explain it stepwise to me?

On the master, use the Text tool to draw a frame, Type %26gt; Insert Special

Character %26gt; Markers %26gt; Current Page Marker.



This is unchanged from CS3.
