Im new to inDesign (CS3) and I want to know if there is a way to make 4 text fields, and when I adjust the first, the rest will change as well.
In other words: 4 (or more) text fields that are exact copies so the stay the same when I change the first text.
I think this is the best way to explain this...Hope you understand.
Thank you in advance,
R.steenis
Duplicate automatic copies
Make a single frame in a different ID document, save, and place that 4 times in the new document. You will have to edit the text text in the original, but it will update all of the linked copies.
That said, you haven't told us, really what you are doing, so that may or may not really be the best answer. If the frames are on different pages, but in the same position, for example, put the text on a master page and apply it to those pages, then edit the text on the master.
Or are you trying to lay out 4-up? Step and repeat is faster than fooling around with other methods so it's probably faster in that case to just delete three frames and recreate them after making the edits.
