Hi all Adobe-product-users,
I need to export valid pdf/a-1b-documents out of indesign. InDesign offers this feature, but my validator says, the converted documents are not valid. If I print the document with the distiller and convert afterwards the document is valid PDF/A-1b but the bookmarks are lost. But I need bookmarks in the documents. The validator disclaims: ''The property 'Trapped' is not allowed in this XMP schema''.
Does anybody know, how to export valid pdf/a-1b out of InDesign?
Can anybody explain the error message, my validator complains about?
Thanks. Anna Kugler
valid PDF/A
InDesign has
never offered direct export of PDF/A. PDF/X, yes, but not PDF/A. How did you think you were doing this, via PDF/X?

valid PDF/A
Hi,
thanks for your reply and this is exactly our problem. We tried to export PDF/X and than convert with Acrobat 9 into PDF/A, which doesn't work. Now we use the distiller to print PDF and than convert into PDF/A (Acrobat 9), but using this way we lose the bookmarks in the document.
Do you have any others ideas?
Thanks, Anna Kugler
What does ''doesn't work'' mean? What exactly is the problem you are having?
What version of PDF/X are you using? Be sure to use PDF/X-3, as it is closest to PDF/A-1.
