Hi,
I am currently using a PC IndesignCS3 and whenever I saved images to eps jpeg in photoshop, the file icon turned into illustrator icons. So when I want to edit my image (which was placed in Indesign) and click onto link, the image appears in illustrator. But what I wanted was to link image to photoshop for editing. I am not sure if it has anything to do with our server settings, PC settings, photoshop setting or Indesign settings.
When I tried it on a Mac, after clicking the link in Indesign, the Mac system actually converts my image into PDF and appeared on PREVIEW application, even though the icon appeared as a photoshop eps icon and not illustrator icon.
So, neither PC or Mac enable me to link directly to photoshop. Please advise. Appreciate anyone's great help and look forward to hear from you soon.
Regards,

How come eps image link to illustration...
On PC the application used to open images is governed by the file association. Photoshop typically does not register .eps, which is just as well since they usually are vector files, not raster.
If you upgrade to CS4 you'll have the option to tell InDesign which application you want to use to edit any link.

It would be easier for you if you just saved as the native file PSD and placed that directly into Indesign. Any updates made to the PSD file would be reflected in Indesign.
