Hello,
I've only recently started using InDesign CS3 with any real project. I tend to use Photoshop everyday and use the flatten layers function to reduce the file size.
Excuse my ignorance if it's a very obvious question but is there a way to flatten the layers on a page (at the creation stage like Photoshop - simply to reduce file size) created with InDesign?
If not include with CS3, is there a function for this in InDesign CS4?
Thanks

You can merge layers in InDesign but it will have little or no affect on
file size.

Doing a ''Save As'' in InDesign is the most effective way to reduce file size. It removes the change history that is used for multiple undo during the current editing session. That history remains with the file, even though it becomes useless after the file is closed.
Thanks - I noticed that merging had no effect so assumed I was doing something wrong. Thanks anyway for the help.
