Hello, I am trying to create season passes based on the seating chart in a baseball field and would like each pass to be individually assigned based off an Excel sheet that has been created for me. For instance, I would like to use the data merge feature to assign one pass Row A Seat 1, a second pass Row A Seat 2 and so forth.
When I attempted to use the option, for some reason an entire sheet was created that contained passes for only Row A Seat 1. A second sheet was created that contained passes for Row A Seat 2 and so on. I only need one pass per seat.
Any help with why this is happening, would be greatly appreciated as it will save me a lot of time, if I can figure it out. Thank you for your help!
Appreciate some help with Data Merge...
The trick to putting multiple records per page is that you make ONLY ONE INSTANCE of your pass in the upper left corner of the page.
ID will duplicate EVERYTHING on the page as many times as will fit, according to the spacing parameters you set, and merge a different record into each new instance.
Even if a frame is empty, or larger than necessary, it will be duplicated. A common problem is that users will have a text frame that is very large included, and there just isn't space to duplicate everything on the page, so make sure that the rectangular shape that will enclose all of your elements is small enough to fit the number times you want.

Appreciate some help with Data Merge...
Peter,
Thank you for taking the time to respond to my question. I made one pass in the upper left corner of my document, merged it and it resulted in the same thing. Is there an option I should be selecting that I am not?
Thank you for your help.
Peter,
Just got it. Right before I clicked the merge button, there is an option in the menu called records per document, and I clicked on multiple records. Thank you for your help!
