Building a book

I want to build a bok from several smaller books. Problem is the smaller books stand alone, they have a cover and TOC etc. I want to link the content of the small books but not the covers and toc into the larger book. Is this possible with ID?

InDesign links files, so if a file has a cover page it will get linked too.

I have been thinking and I might know how to make this work. I have to break down the small books so the covers and contents are in separate files. Then create a book file for each of the small books, and a book file for the large book, just including the content, not the covers.



This is a little more complex than I'd like, but does anyone see a reason it won't work?
