Hi folks,
I was here a few weeks ago, now Im back with another question.
I've got a 150 page document, in Indesign CS3 - I need to break this document up into 2 separate Indesign docs. Is there a good clean way to do this??
Thanks for your help in advance
Jessica
- note, my experience is limited with Indesign, but Im fast becoming a fan.
Breaking up a document
A good clean way, no. Use ''Save As'' to create a 2nd document, then delete all pages not used in the two versions.
Deleting a page
i does not remove the text
-- it will happily re-flow in the available text frames. You'll have to delete it manually as well.
It seems 'the guys' didn't think of anyone wanting to split or join existing InDesign documents at all. The Book feature is sort of 'join', but not really.
Breaking up a document
There's the Move Pages command in the pages panel, but as jongware has mentioned, I don't believe this works well with threaded text. If you don't NEED the threading you can run the SplitStory sample script to make all the linked frames independent.
